What's a good professional quality silver trumpet?

I want a thumb trigger for the first valve and something that has amazing tone and sound. =) Easy to play would be cool too, under 700 dollar preferably.

My Yamaha 2335 is a good mid-range trumpet.
Can be had under $300 on e-Bay

then there is a SERIOUS increment in pricing to get to the next level like a yamaha Xeno.
I wish there would be a descrenable jump in performance at $700 - I would jump in myself.

A professional under $700? Browse eBay and Craiglist for used horns, because you won't be able to find anything new in your price range. Bach and Yamaha are two of the best brands. Some others are Holton, Conn, Getzen, Schilke, Olds, and Besson.

Whatever you do, do NOT buy one of those dirt-cheap horns like a Tristar, Cecilio, or First Act. They're poorly built with cheap materials. They sound terrible, and when they break (oh yes they will), repair shops don't touch them.

Used horns look to be your best bet here. dillionmusic.com is a very reputable brass dealer. Any used horn that they sell you will play well. If you're looking on craigslist or eBay I'd be looking for a Bach Stradivarius, pro-level Yamaha, recent Jupiter XO, maybe even a Getzen. If you find an add for one and would like me to check out the add/research the model, contact me through the website below. Good luck :)
