Generally you can claim him as long as his income for the year was less than $3,650, you provided more than half of his support, and he is not married filing a joint return. Since he is your son, there is no requirement that he live with you.

If he is disabled or has income under the amount of $ 3,650; lives in your home the entire year, etc; then possibly yes. Download a Pub 17 at IRS.GOV and check out the flow charts and possiblilites.

See IRS Publication 501. The criteria are spelled out there.

you can put him on ypur taxes but the only thing that you will get from him is the earned income credit which honestly isint that much

if he lives in your household the ENTIRE year, you provided more than 50% of his support, he did not earn $3650 and he cannot be claimed on the tax return of anyone else
