My sister-in-law got into an accident, repairs outweigh the value of the vehicle, so my brother has decided to tear down the vehicle and peice it out. I have experience in repairing vahicles but never completely tore one down. Anybody have any suggestions of where to start, or the order to proceed to make it as possible? It's a 98 Taurus

there is no correct order...just remove all the external engine parts (alternator, compressor, power steering pump, starter, radiator, condensor, battery, windshield wiper motor, heater blower motor), exhaust, fuel tank, transmission, engine, lights, fenders, doors, glass, seats, steering column, dashboard (if inclined), hood, trunk lid, tires, all suspension (struts, inner/outer tie rods, etc., etc)however you want to do it. When it's all done and said for you should have a frame laying on bricks with the remaining body on top of it.
Well...you leave it sitting intact and loosen and start to remove the incidental stuff (that you can remove quickly) like the seats, dash, headlights, tail lights, wheels, modules, exhaust, etc. Sell the engine intact (with all sensors and accessories) locally and the rest on ebay or craigslist. But basically on a car like this it's going to take a while before it's all sold. Then just sell the rest for scrap.
My tip is to decide how much you want to get from the car and set your prices low to meet that figure. Go for volume and speed of sale (keep price under 20 bucks for most parts so that the parts will sell...20 bucks is better than throwing it in a garbage truck)
