Delhi metro IGI airport station to arrival terminal?

I have to pick up my mother from the airport. If I take the orange line and get off at the airport station, how long will it take for me to get to the Arrivals terminal? Also, is it convenient to come back to the New Delhi station via the metro with one large suitcase each?

The flight arrival is on the morning of February 15th. We'll hire a cab from the New Delhi station.

...on the way back.
This is the ideal plan. I'm looking for answers from people with first-hand experience.

As of now, the Orange Line is not operational. Although it has received the safety clearance, the first Metro trains are yet to be shown the Green Flag off the terminal stations, while I guess should happen by the beginning of February. The IGI Metro station is located close to Terminal 3. So I guess it shouldn't be much of fuss getting there.

As far as ferrying of goods is concerned, then well, the sole purpose of this Express Line is to serve passengers embarking and disembarking at the Airport. So, you will be able to comfortably come back with your luggage. The one great thing is that counters have also been installed at New Delhi station so as to minimise load at the IGI Airport.

However, beyond the New Delhi station, if you intend to travel, then it will certainly be a big hassle for you travelling in the busiest and the chock-a-block Yellow Line. So better arrange for some private mode of transport at New Delhi station.

I would suggest hiring a meter taxi and hoping it must be better and easier by all means.
