Why don't I see flavored whipped cream?

It seems we flavor cream cheese, custards, butters, just about anything, but I never see any recipes calling for whipped cream that has been flavored. I know you'd want to whip the cream first, but after that, folding in lemon or lime zest, or cocoa powder, seems a natural. Would this make the whipped cream deflate and be ruined?

No, adding a flavor to whipped cream will not make it deflate, actually, in fine dining restaurants and bakeries have been flavoring whipped cream forever.

Redi-Whip sells chocolate whipped cream. Their website says they've made it since 2001, but I've only seen it recently in stores near me. Here's a link to a basic flavored whipped cream recipe, using strawberries. On the right side of the page, it says you can use blueberries or other fruit, and also suggests flavoring it with Grand Marnier or Bailey's Irish Cream. On the left you can click on coffee whipped cream and raspberry Chambord whipped cream recipes.

Here in the midwest we have flavored Cool Whip -- chocolate; strawberry and french vanilla. Ask your grocer they are able to order some. The only other suggestion I have is talk to a local bakery store and see if they could get some.

Chocolate (for sure) and I think strawberry whipped creams are sold in some supermarkets. If you whip the halfway and add lemon zest and whip it again I think it will be ok.
