Programs for Mass renaming files?

Hi guys!

All I want to ask is that 'is there a program that mass rename files in this format?:'

01.jpg
02.jpg
etc...
09.jpg
10.jpg
11.jpg
and etc..

I've downloaded a few, but I don't know how to use them. Could you please provide step-by-step instructions for renaming bulks in that format? By the way, I want to rename the entire file's name (i.e. e.g. 'Picture234-sdsd.jpg' to '55.jpg')

And please don't answer with just a link to download a random program. Instructions and details are preferable.

Thanks, and I apologise for my selfishness.

I'd like to recommend Faster Rename, which can be downloaded at http://www.namefaster.com/

You can follow the instructions below to rename your files:
- drag & drop your files to the program window
- click on "click here to select a renaming rule directly", and then select "replace with counter" from the popup menu
- change the number length to 2 (this step is not necessary)
- click on the "rename" button on the top-right corner, and then click on the "start" button on the popup dialog

DONE

Yes, yes, to both answers above, plus one advice:
1. Install Total Commander, it is an excellent program, for many operations.
To rename ONE file i.e. from blablabla01.jpg to anything.jpg, select file, go to "files", click, go to "Properties", you see blablabla01. Click, backspace, write anything, click OK, finished.

Bulk Rename Utility does exactly what you want and is free of charge. I use it to rename photos and music files myself for example.

Use Total Commander, it has a really nice GUI interface for that.
