Anyone happen to see Christina Aguilera totally botching the National Anthem at the Super Bowl?
Just how self-centered and conceited can a person be? It's the National Anthem. It's about paying respect to the nation and the many thousands of men and women that died defending the USA at home and abroad. Why would ANYONE want to reinterpret it by trying to string-out the words? I've seen classrooms full of first graders do a much better job than she did.
Am I alone in my thoughts?

i watched it and in my head, as i was listening to her, i was asking myself, wait a minute, did she just fu@k it up??? what a freakin douche!!! she gets no respect from me anymore and i was a fan. she tried to make our national anthem her own and she FAILED!!!! i am kinda pissed cuz that is one of my favorite parts of this game.
Wtf everyone? Are you nuts or out of your mind. First of all, none of you can even sing as good as her, probably. Plus, she was nervous. Everyone makes mistake! You can't expect her to turn into God or something. To answer this question, no she isn't. That's YOUR opinion. But plenty of people sound way worse than her. She is fine singer, just not confident. Also, the national anthem doesn't fit her style of singing.
shes not a bad singer, but i was suprised she messed up the words and im not impressed by all the embellishments and dynamics people like to add to the national anthem, but everyone always seems to do it at the super bowl, so why call only her out? i think the national anthem should be sung straight with maybe a few personal touches, but other people like all the added stuff, and no one really seems to care so there you have it. it seems like the national anthem has become a show off moment for most singers like look at me i get to sing the national anthem and you dont, but most people dont care, but i think the worst moment was just the last note, she was screaming more than singing it.
rather, Christina is a ton greater proficient than Britney ever even imagined she replaced into. and she or he's no longer a custom-wreak the two. You needless to say have not have been given any flavor in track...yet to each their own i think.
You are not alone at all. Many of my Facebook friends have posted about how horrible she was. Most first graders, as you said, could at least get the words right, and she couldn't even do that. What an embarrassment!!
