Whether or not you believe in them has no bearing whatsoever on their existence or lack thereof. So yes, you can see them if you don't believe in them... if they exist. If they don't, you're just seeing stuff.

I fairly have in no way considered a alien craft yet have confidence in them purely using fact of each and every of the stars interior the sky. There must be stuff accessible that we don't comprehend approximately. i've got confidence in ghosts using fact i think of I observed one a pair of situations. there have been 2 doors to my kitchen in my old condo and that i saved seeing this white shape shifting with the aid of one doorway. sooner or later i attempted reducing it off with the aid of the different doorway yet not something grew to become into there. the component continuously got here from the direction of the attic doorway and individuals informed me that they observed lighting fixtures furniture interior the attic and have been thinking what i grew to become into doing up there. properly there grew to become into no electricity up there and that i wasn't up there with a flashlight the two. i attempted bringing my canines up there and she or he purely gave me that look like "What are You loopy!?" something grew to become into/is going on in that domicile and that i could fairly decide to talk to the individuals residing there now!

Many people who do not believe in the spirit realm or ghosts have experiences with them all the time. I was not a complete believer in such until I had an experience for myself so I say yes. You can see them and experience them if you do not believe in them. What you may of experienced could possibly be that of a "shadow person" , they are reported to be seen from time to time and are not necessarily associated with a haunting but are a more transient being as they come and go.

I have friends that used to live in an old farmhouse and they swore they had a ghost. Others had witnessed its presence too. (There had been someone who lived on that road many years before who'd committed suicide but they couldn't confirm it was in that house.) Usually when things happened it was stuff like lights turning on and off, or a scent of perfume or just a feeling someone was there. But one night on New Years Eve the wife woke up and saw a guy in overalls sitting at the end of their bed. The husband had been drinking but the wife was pregnant so had not had one drop! After dealing with many weird occurrences for several years they finally had the house blessed and had no more problems.
I also had 3 co-workers over the years who claimed to have seen or experienced the presence of ghosts. They are all well respected professional people who wouldn't believe in that kind of thing...except for when it happened to them!

If ghosts were real, then logically this would be possible regardless if you believe in them or not.
If ghosts are not real and if you don't believe in ghosts, you can still see something that you think looks like a ghost. But if you don't believe in ghosts, you're likely to go investigating to find out what it really is.
The explanation for what you thought you saw is a peripheral vision illusion. Most people have them at some time or another. It's caused by a change in contrast or brightness triggering the rod photoreceptors in your peripheral vision. As your turn your head to look, it appeas as if the shadow is moving, hence the "shadow person" ghost illusion.
