determine the overall number of moles of Carbon present in 378 g of Hydrogen Cyanide (HCN)

Thanks

n = m/M

where n is numer of mols m is mass and M is molecular weight.

you know the mass = 167.832
the molecular weight of Carbon is found on the periodic table and = 12

so just 167.832grams/12grams/mol

Do the same for HCN but now you need the atomic weight of H, C and N and add them together to get the molecular weight (M)
