what do i do after an anemone is sucked though a pump?
Worst day ever. My new rose bulb tip anemone got sucked completely through the pump while I was at work. The anemone started moving last night so I was anxious to get home from work to see how it turned out.
I look at my tank and freak out as the water is super cloudy and my anemone is nowhere to be seen. Later found parts, small parts, of the anemone floating around and the pump had lots of meat wrapped around the impeller shaft.
I did the only thing i could think to do. In a 36 gallon tank, I did a bout 8 gallon water change. Went to the store to get 22 more gallons and mixing 10 gallons now for anouther water change. I also placed a large bag of carbon in a high flow area in my HOB refugium.
What else should I do to prevent toxins from crashing my tank? Do blendered Anemone even release toxin or is that just something that happens when they slowly die naturally?
