What is required for USB 3.0 devices?

What is needed to be able to use the new USB 3.0 devices? If I have Usb 2.0 now will a whole new set of jacks be needed? Can 2.0 be adapted to 3.0 & if so what needs to be done to a PC to use a 3.0 device? Is this new standard something that I'd have to wait to use, by having it included in the hardware of a new PC & 3.0 devices?

You can use any USB 2.0 or 1.1 device on the USB 3.0 ports BUT you need to have a USB 3.0 port. I take it that you do not have USB 3.0 ports on your motherboard so you will require a PCI-e USB3 card, Make sure you get one which has been reviewed as their many USB 3.0 PCI-e cards out there which are built cheaply and do not work properly (from personal experience). Heres a link to what you need (or something similar)

With the USB 3.0 PCI-e cards, you can use ANY USB device with it, it is backwards compatible

Hope this helped
