6th Cranial Nerve Palsy?

Has anyone had 6th cranial Nerve Palsy (which can cause double vision in one eye) and recovered within 1 to 6 months naturally (without medical intervention)?

You know a lot, Jim, but your answer doesn't address my question. I already know diabetics are prone to it. Also, it occurred after I fell on a carpet in my home. I've already seen a neurologist and got the same information I received from my opthamologist: usually these cases resolve themselves within 2-3 months. But I don't know anyone who has had 6th cranial nerve palsy in which the case "resolved itself". That's why I asked the specific question above.

Common causes include diabetes, hypertension and atherosclerosis. It can also occur when involved in a recent trauma or even a lumbar puncture (spinal tap. Usually follow up visits with a neurologist are recommended. Once diagnosed in the ER, we consult with a neurologist and send them home. After that, I don't know the lasting effects or how it becomes resolved. Hope this helps a little.

I also fell and hit my head on a carpet floor. Woke a few days later with double vision. I recovered from the double vision in 2.5 mnths. Not fully but in time I did.(98% perhaps) The nerve palsy still occurs though and wakes me during REM sleep at times.
