Do Missouri Probation/Parole officers have the option to carry a weapon?
I'm looking into a career in Probation/Parole. I know it varies state by state but does Missouri give its probation/parel officers the option of carrying a gun for personal protection?

Yes I'm the state of Missouri you are allowed to have a ccw. Some office if you have permission from the manager will even let you take them to work. But this must be cleared first. I so ccw classes I was a SFOD-Delta operator with a military career of over 20 yrs. I joined in 89 and started right of in SF as a Ranger then green beret. But yes you can and most places welcome the fact of employs caring to work. And in that line of work I would say they would say yes.
Generally, no. If the Reserve Officer wants to carry off duty he must get a concealed carry permit like any other citizen. Some reserve officers might only work security details for special events or only work when the department runs short handed. Training time and liability issues do not allow for reserve officers to be granted the same privileges full time officer have.
