Is there any way to set the default Adobe Flash quality to medium?

My little laptop can't handle the "high quality" setting for more than a minute or so without shutting down from Adobe Flash Player using all the memory, and video acceleration for stupid adds, and steaming video.

Mind you, I don't need the super most bestest top-end high quality video ALL the time.
I get tired of right clicking and setting the video quality on every visit to ANY web page.
(when the option is available)

Is there a way to keep my laptop from shutting down due overheating from Adobe Flash Player over-taxing my system short of disabling Adobe Flash Player (Shockwave Flash)?
