Cloth Diapers: Bum Genius All in one One Size or Fuzzi Bunz One Size (or other)?

I'm debating doing cloth diapers with Baby #2 we're expecting this fall. I tried cloth diapers with our first and I didn't really like it. I used G Diapers. I didn't really like G Diapers. I didn't mind cleaning the insert but cleaning the liner that snaps in was a hassle. The plastic snaps also dug in to my son and left red marks, and he quickly outgrew them, even though he is small and we didn't start using them until he was 1 and his growth had slowed already.

So I'm leaning more towards a one size that will grow with baby. I also like the idea of a all in one diaper because, like I said, it was a pain (for me) to clean the insert and the liner. So I like the Idea of AIO but then I wonder how clean they get and if they get build up? And would they wear out quicker?

I'm really afraid to invest in cloth diapers since it didn't work out well last time but part of it was my own laziness. THe other part was I only bought a few, and mixed with disposables. So by the time I dirtied all 6 of them it took a few days and then the diaper bucket was kind of gross and a pain to clean out. I think it would go better if I bought 12-15 diapers (especially with a newborn coming) so I would dirty enough to do a load every day. but the problem with that is that I have to spend a lot of money. And then if that doesn't solve my problem I'm out a lot of money I can't afford to lose right now.

Anyway, looking for advice and if anyone has used both Bum Genius AIO One size and Fuzzi Bunz One Size and which one they liked better.

I'm also planning on trying EC with this one too, if that makes any difference.

I would buy ONE bumgenius and ONE fuzzibunz to try before committing to more. I like them both equally, but my son is bang on average shape and pretty much everything works for him.

I found AIO's to be a pain in the you know where to be honest, not because of cleaning difficulties or wear and tear (in fact of the ones I have purchased it is the AIO's that have stood the test of heavy usage the best!) what I found to be the worst thing about them is the drying time. AIO's take FOREVER to dry!

Like you I found Gdiapers to be a real hassle to clean, however I found a true pocket style to be MUCH easier to clean so most of my stash has ended up as pockets.

My favourites are the ebay cheapies, they're about $5 each (you can get them considerably cheaper though). The ebay cheapies are a one size pocket, I've found them to be the most versatile with fit and they are cheap enough that it doesn't hurt as much in the hip pocket if you decide you don't like them! I was able to buy enough for a full time stash for the same cost as two bumgenius brand diapers.

As to the EC, I'm wondering just how many of the disposable users on here would run a mile in the opposite direction if you suggested they do it as an alternative to trashing the environment that didn't involve laundry!

I've never heard a bad word about BumGenius. I just bought some drybees and am addicted now. They are the best cloth I've used yet. They fit well, don't leak and even lock the moisture into the insert and away from skin. If I was ever out and stuck I could make do with 1 diaper for an entire day (just changing inserts) because it was bone dry on top and soaked inside.

The inserts aren't too bad. We soak and put in a pail. I think Drybees has some AIOs. www.drybees.com

Look around for 2nd hand diapers. Kijiji is good and so is craigslist. Even if you google looking for local stores. Or look for sites that sell diapers and they may have 2nd hand. You save a bundle that way.
But if you want to buy new here's my advice: Every pay cheque go out and buy one diaper. It doesn't seem like so much when you buy one at a time and you'll have enough in no time. (Or you could just put the money aside in a piggy bank somewhere and buy all at once),

The 2nd answerer proved the first one right. It's hard to know what will work for you. Because answerer #2 hated Happy Heineys and I don't mind them. Not as good as the Drybees but pretty good diapers in my opinion.

Are you wanting the organic and organic bumgenius? once you're happy with no longer employing organic and organic you will get the only-length pocket diapers for approximately $17.ninety 5/each and each. The bonus of those is they're a one-length diaper- meaning, you will no longer might desire to purchase small, medium, super, extra super as your infant grows, the snaps regulate on Bumgenius to extra healthful newborns via potty training. we are employing one-length pocket diapers purely so as that we don't might desire to purchase new diapers each and every time the infant grows, for this reason, will save funds interior the long-term. we've Bumgenius 3.0's, happy Heiny's, and Blueberry Minkees. All of those are one-length pocket diapers. The Bumgenius have been $17.ninety 5/each and each (no longer organic and organic) and those are what we've the main of. Then we've a pair happy Heinys that have been $18.ninety 5/each and each. and then we've approximately 6 Blueberry Minkees that have been around $33/each and each (confident, particularly high priced yet SO cute!). And to us, its worth it to spend somewhat extra by way of fact they are going to extra healthful our newborn from delivery to potty training. i don't have journey with the different 2 manufacturers you listed, yet Bumgenius are extraordinarily cautioned on each and all of the internet sites I examine. So are happy Heinys and Blueberrys additionally are, yet harder to discover comments on by way of fact maximum folk won't pay that plenty for a diaper. i could no longer face as much as even with the undeniable fact that, they're so comfortable (minky fabric) and are available super cute designs (camo, leopard, and so on).

It is hard to know what will work, because every baby has such a different build.

Why don't you try one of those sample packs?
You do have to pay a large amount upfront, but unless you choose to keep *all* the diapers, most places refund a good amount of money. Then build a stash of the dipe that worked =]

Go with disposables. So much easier and a lot less risk money wise.

I tried cloth and also hated it. Won't do it again.

If you do still decide to go with cloth, don't get happy heinys. Thats what I used and I hated them
