how to fix a screen problem on my acer laptop?

hello, my brother recently dropped his laptop on its side (screen open, dropped on its right side) and now the screen is all messed up. its not cracked or anything. the screen still turns on but only about 1/4 of the right side of the screen works. but the rest is like, black w/ a few white stripes, then another section is solid white. but its as if though the display was shifted to the right (the direction it fell) because what should be on the left, is whats on the right side. (1/4 of the screen) the laptop is an Acer Aspire One (KAV60) any help/solutions/diagnosis is greatly appreciated thanks.

I am in the process of getting a replacement for an ACER Aspire (14 inch screen) laptop for a client. Acer AUS are charging between $109 - $219 AUD. depending if it is the harness or the screen, $219 for screen, money up front (credit card), it is a post off and repair. Acer pay for the logistics, ie post etc., all you have to do is box it up and send, 5 -10 working day from the time they receive it. So visit the website in your area and get a quote. I am not 100% happy paying up front but that is there system, I just left strict instructions with them to keep me posted on any variations in repair costs?

I'm afraid you need a new screen. :( This happened to my acer one as well. The good news is the screens are only 60 dollars for 8.9 in and 90 dollars for 10 in screens. http://www.screenaid.com/acer-laptop-lcd-screens-aspire-one-c-40_14691.html?gclid=COWAv_mh1KcCFcfe4Aodgh3f-w Hope I could help you.

its broken, though there may not be any cracks, the screen itself is damaged internally and isnt repairable... unless you build them for a livin. The screen has to be replaced. :( sorry man
