Do you honestly think...?

that a year long monogamous relationship could end and then the two become friends w/ benefits without a jealousy component?

Funny you should ask. This has happened to me. My ex-girlfriend and I have talked about this very issue. I still love her and it would seem I would welcome the chance to be intimate with her. We (in my opinion) had an electric physical chemistry. I have never been with anyone that could make me feel like she did. The big issue with me is..like I said above I still love her and being with her intimately would not help me to let her move on and me also. My problem is I don't want to move on, but it is the right thing to do for her. I can't be there for her in everyday situations and she deserves someone who can be there.
Friends...always.....If sometime in the future the opportunity comes up with the benefits, and I can handle it without the jealously issue, it would be great.

It really depends on the people. I couldn't do it - if I wanted out of a relationship, it would be because I had completely given up on it and didn't want anything to do with the person, period, end of story.

But I know people who are much more casual about sex and less emotionally intense than I am. I know a few people who occasionally have sex with an ex-spouse. There are relationships where the couple are great in bed but just can't stand to live together. {shrug} Whatever works, but that's not for me.

A monogamous relationship would end up being two people still having feelings for eachother..... Right?

Probably not. The her making no effort in the relationship is what killed it. Not the one I have with a bunch of people especially my live-in girlfriend. This is an online one. Real feelings come into play I thought I was over her, then one day I saw someone on a nameless social network and flew into a rage. Does that answer?

Not really. It depends on how was the relationship like and how it ended. One maybe totally okay with it but the other sometimes have issues. Mine didn't end well. She was clingy and jealous for a year. But now it's ok.:)
