ok i have to write a persuasive essay for english and i wanted to do something bout horses. but im not sure what to write about. i have to have to have a thesis. can someone give me ideas on 3 points about horses i should cover? please dont be mean(:

A persuasive essay, huh? How about something persuading the audience of the benefits of riding horses? It's good exercise for one. Teaches responsibility, empathy, working as a team, etc. Keeps kids out of trouble same as any involvement in a sport. Etc.
Or if your school does not have a riding team (many high schools do) you could try to persuade people that your school should add one.

Here is what not to do: slaughter. It's a great topic, but you sound like a middle school/high school student, and a topic as massive as slaughter is far too broad and flat-out enormous for a persuasive essay in high school.
Just a tip: don't try to force every single paper/project you do to be about horses. They do NOT relate to everything imaginable, and teachers can tell if your topic is really a stretch.

You could also put a persuasive essay into something like the city/state should put more funding into therapeutic riding/riding for the disadvantaged urban youth. My city has a wonderful program for that, but I'm sure not all do!
You could look at www.worktoride.net ....its a program similiar to whats in my city.

Beauty Grace and Spirit are associated with all horses but it might be best to narrow your topic to a specific breed and talk about some the the breed specific traits.
