The Effect of Shutter Releases on Cameras Value?

At what number of shutter releases does a cameras resale value decline? What is considered a low or a high volume. I realize there are many other factors that affect it's worth, but I'm strictly wondering about releases.

Electronics values decline instantly after purchase.
A shutter curtain overhaul costs approx $450 add that to the used price and you can have a newer virgin camera body.
Used cameras are over priced & owner ignorance is the major reason not to buy used from just anyone.
Only buy display cameras stored in glass case from genuine camera dealers. Not the local fun store.
Furthermore every release of a new super model camera dumps last years camera prices right into the toilet making them affordable.

Depends on the viewfinder - whether it is optical or a small viewing screen. An optical viewfinder can't show you any effects, and doesn't even show you all that will be in focus unless you use a depth of field preview button to stop the lens down. If it's a small viewing screen then it might be capable of simulating the effects you apply. Most pro-oriented cameras will have optical viewfinders. It's not too small - your eye is very close and the viewfinder lenses put it in focus for you. And yes, in many cases you have to wait until you get the image on a large screen before you spot the good ones or your mistake. However, the review screen on the back will show the captured image with any effects and you can zoom in to check, for example, that the person's eyes are in focus.

Most sellers hide that number when selling their dSLRs so you really can't tell the difference with a lightly used old camera from an abused one besides aesthetics. If the camera is priced too low for its age, skip it. It's not always about getting the cheapest. You have to ensure you enjoy your purchase too even if you have to pay a bit more for it.

As to shutter actuation count, most dSLRs are rated to last up to 100,000. I personally set a limit to 20,000 when buying secondhand just to be on the safe side. Anything lower than 5,000 consider as almost new!
