A golf cart is not a street legal vehicle and can not be used on city streets. It can be used only on private property and then only with the property owners permission.

Only in a private gated community. Golf carts cannot be licensed and are illegal on public roads.

HOWEVER

I live in a small country village populated primarily by retired farmers. There is a beautiful golf course at the bottom of our main street. All these olde phartes drive their golf carts from their houses to the golf course because most of them no longer have a drivers license. The Police never stop them. Why should they? They aren't harming anyone.

Depends on the city. I live in a small town that passed an ordinance which allows golf cars and ATVs to operate on any city streets with the exception of the two main ones going through town. You are allowed to cross them but not drive directly down either one. In most cases it's probably not legal but it is here. You do need to have a valid driver's license and if on an ATV a current registration sticker.

Not on the street but maybe on the sidewalks. You will have to be 16 and have a drivers license to drive a golf cart off of your property.

no, it's not legal to drive a golf cart on the streets considering they don't have turn signals or other things that a car needs to have.
