I have an HP m8300f computer running Vista. I installed Nero and now I'm missing the DVD Rom. It isnt in the device manager, windows explorer or anywhere. I did the registry thing and there is no upper and lower filters. I did a restore and it didnt help either. I uninstalled Nero and Roxio. It opened up one time, now its back to not being recognized. Can you help me?

I don't know about the newer versions of Nero & Roxio, but Nero installs InCd and Roxio installs DirectCd, which can cause a conflict. You may not have completely removed the programs from your computer.
To uninstall Nero use their General CleanTool:

Could be a driver try going to Hp.com and finding the driver for your DVD ROM. Cold be a loose cable.
