Warm Tones out of my Stratocaster?

Thanks to all for looking....

I'm looking to buy a pedal to give me warmer tones out of my stratocaster, such as for playing blues. I'm not new to playing guitar by any means, but I've never experimented with pedals/effects. What suggestions do you all have for getting the tones I'm looking for? Please don't respond with "get a Les Paul," or anything like that. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Hello there,

An overdrive pedal might give you a tone you like. Of course the old Tube Screamer is the best, but it carries a big price now. The newer ones are not as good. I don't know for certain that it is exactly what you want so before you shell out big bucks for a vintage Tube Screamer, you need to hear what one sounds like. A couple inexpensive pedals that are definitely worth trying are some older Danelectro pedals (yes Danelectro). The Daddy O and the Fab Tone (not the newer Fab series). These are pretty versatile pedals and may have some tones you will like. Best of all they are cheap. You can pick up used ones on eBay dirt cheap. I bought the Daddy O for $15. The Fab Tone cost more to ship than I paid for the pedal. These are real sleeper pedals.

I really think getting a warmer tone is probably something that you will change more with your amp and speakers than with pedals. You said you have a Strat, but you did not mention the amp and speakers. A different amp and speakers may be what you need, more so than the pedals.

If you're set on a pedal, an EQ pedal such as the BOSS GE-7 could help you get a warmer tone.

I would just work on adjusting your tone controls, before you buy anything. Depending on the sound you're looking for, an overdrive with some bite or a different amp might help.
