How come the Neg S&P outlook on US debt is being completely ignored?

Seriously. I have been working in the US bond market for almost 20 years. This is unprecedented and potentially cataclysmic. Yet, Treasury bond prices are actually going up and the stock market is still relatively unscathed. What is your theory?

denial. It is my personal opinion that US treasury debt ought to carry a credit ration of about BB-, but then I am more of a realist than most, I think.

Because despite S&P outlook regarding the level of debt being taken on by the U.S., the probability of the United States defaulting on their bonds is still extremely low.
