Sony Ericssen Xperia phone: every photo is duplicated - how to stop this happening?

Question

I chose my new Xperia phone mainly because it takes such brilliant photos, and I use it constantly to photograph local fungi.

Only problem is that now every photo I take ends up duplicating itself, which is a nuisance, especially as I have to wade through literally hundreds of images at the end of a fungi trek.

This started happening a few weeks ago, and I have no idea how to get rid of this unwanted duplicating. Is there something in the settings I can adjust?

I'd appreciate any ideas!

I don't suppose you've recently downloaded any additional apps that could be running. I had a problem with all my messages being duplicated because the application I wanted to use would not override the system program. Probably not but I just wanted to say hi, pictures of fungi -  excellent. Ah Hafwen things sound so much fun down there ( :     x

I'm not aware of any settings (your cell provider should be able to help with that) but I had a thought that perhaps the phone in some "hi-def" setting might be making duplicates as thumbnails as a convenience for file transfer to a computer.

... just a thought.
