Why do Questions say "Be the First to answer" & then when you post an answer, you see there are already 4 or 5?

answers before yours as long as 15 minutes before you posted yours? So, they didn't "cross" each other. That's why there are so many answers saying the same thing. If you could read all the answers before you post, there wouldn't be so much frustration for the answerer who just spent time posting for nothing new! Do you find the same thing happening to you?

Not necessarily, but occasional and it appears that both people were answering the same question and one hit the post button sooner that the other

Maybe you take really long to answer or the first person had just finished answering after your page loaded. Most likely, both.
