Marquez gets blown out of the water, IMO. I would say, he gets stopped by the middle rounds. He's definitely "deserving" of the fight, but I don't see it as being competitive...thoughts?

Now, I haven't read anyone's answer yet and maybe someone has already mentioned this but I will aswell just for the sake of it. Marquez couldn't beat a one handed, one dimensional Manny Pacquiao on two occasions, and whether you believe he did win those two fights they sure as hell were close. Imagine Marquez facing a version of Pacquiao... the current Pacquiao, who has superb footwork, hand speed, power and can fight with both hands. All of that and the fact that the fight will take place at 147, the weight in which marquez was utterly humiliated by Mayweather in. How can one possible think Marquez has a chance in this fight?
Now, saying "Marquez is most deserving of a fight" is a whole other story that I would have to agree with. Marquez is the closest man to defeating Pacquiao since the first Morales fight. And he has two great fights with him, I would love to see this third match be competitive, but frankly, it wont be.

Of course Marquez deserves credit for ppv sales, he's a top notch fighter and is the best fighter south of the border. I do think though that a lot of latinos bought the fight because Marquez was fighting Mayweather and was hoping Marquez could pull an upset on arguable the best fighter in the world. I don't think Marquez does those numbers fighting Juan Diaz on PPV.

How I wish I could justify a buy. This issue of him winning against Manny should be put to rest even it means killing him but no matter how I tried to justify it. I just can't. I don't really believed that he want to fight Pacquiao. His demand can not satisfy what he said. If he really want a fight and only a fight, then why make such demand as if he can dictates those people involved. Accept what is presented and beat Manny Pacquiao like what he said he can and did in those two fights and go from there. I am sure that he can ask everything he want in a rematch is ever there is and if ever he won against Manny.
The offer was at Welterweight and I don't have any idea about the other things that goes with the offer. He should accept it with no provision of a catchweight, OSDT and the purse to prove his clean intention on the match up then maybe I can find something to make me willing to change my position and say that he should fight Manny Pacquiao to give him a chance to prove himself correct but right now, Its a sell at bargain price.

I'm still hoping the fight happens at 140. At 147 it hardly seems interesting. As for JMM's age, lets not forget that what he used to give Pacquiao trouble, was not speed, or strength, but his guile. He knows Pacquiao. He knows his moves. He is great at anticipating the attack, moving out of the way and countering it. Yes, Pac has evolved nowadays. But lets prove it. Until we see that improvement in action, then its all in our heads. I want to see how much Pac has improved. I want to see him confuse and confound Marquez. If anything else, this is a great tune up for a Mayweather fight. Lets see if Pacman has evolved into a fighter that can out-think his opponent.

What Marquez get a shot a Pacquiao after Mayweather destroyed him already? Now that is a fight that I grantee all of Floyd Mayweather fans will say Pacquiao is only fighting opponents left over from Floyd Mayweather, even if their previous fights could of gone either way look at the weight and look at Manny now at 147 as opposed to the pudgy Marquez at this weight-seriously people lets not help Arum or Marquez sell this mismatch!
