Rescued Arabian progression? Pictures.?

Okay, so he is a pure blood Arab, standing a 14.2 hands high and he is a gelding. We rescued him about two months ago from some neglectful owners who werent feeding him enough were letting their other horse beat up on him by biting him and kicking him and ect. As soon as I got him home I put him on a meal plan, feeding him about 8 times a day of small amounts of food. Within two months I can barely feel his ribs at all (: He is looking rather scrawny right now as he is shedding his winter coat and he looks rather disheveled. He is the sweetest horse you could ever ask for (: I'm not asking for judging his conformation as in these pictures he isnt on level ground and he isnt standing correctly, but how does he look like he is progressing? My family had been trying to get me to sell him cause he is a little wild under the saddle but I cant bring myself to do it... Anyway, heres the photo

Maybe it doesnt seem much to you, but to me, it seems like a miracle (: And as you can tell his name is Rusty :D

I have been working with him every single day on the ground, lunging and jumping and everything, and he has made some progress, So yes I am in the process of retraining him but it doesnt happen over night. Yeah, every morning now I am currying him off to get this stupid winter coat off :D

naw :) good work! keep it up, im sure with time he will become a great horse under saddle with he amount of work and detiacation you are putting in

i know how hard it can be :) and only a few people really have the drive to push though the horses problems and get the best out of the horse

great job!!

arabs are a little...funny. they are one person or one family horses. it may take him a bit to bond to you, but once he does (completely does), there is nothing he won't do for you. he will settle down, and he'll be a complete dream. the retraining is a great move, too. it will help him learn more about you, and build that bond. you'll look back at his beginning and wonder if it's the same horse.

He looks healthy and happy, and seems to have some muscle on him. But he also looks in need of a few hours of good currying. :)
If you love him so much, it would be worth it trying to calm him down, begin retraining him.

I think he looks really good. Some Arabs I've know have trouble keeping weight on, but you really did a good job. He looks really, really nice. With consistent work he's going to keep building muscle and is going to look even more amazing!

If you need help with your Arab, You know where to reach me. =)
