My husband was driving home from work and went to switch from 4th gear to 1st but never released the clutch. He heard a popping sound then put it back down to 3rd gear but now the car won't move. Everything feels the same when you try to shift it just won't move. There is no grinding or any kind of sound. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

i had a 94 accord ex 5 speed i loved the car but it was a pain to work on if the car starts and goes in gear but doesn't move take your foot of the clutch and if it just sits there doesn't jerk forward then its having a problem engaging a trans shop could fix this not a big deal but get quotes or you will be screwed here are some used transmissions for a cheap price if it cost to much to fix

put the car in 1st and turn it on leave it in 1st and take yout foot off the clutch if the car doesnt jolt and turn off im guess the clutch popped or something with the pressure plate
