Does a person not on a lease but actual resident have any rights?

If your boyfriend rented an apt for you and is paying rent but you find out there might possibly be illegal activity by the apt manager, another resident and agent or property owner in regards to all tenants does the person who actually lives there have rights such as privacy,harassment,towing of vehicle,etc?

These are all sperate matters, your rights are not effected by other activity.

Unless you were approved to live in the apartment you do not have a right to be there at all.

As far as the rights to the property, no. Your boyfriend has rights and you are allowed to stay there. That said, as his guest, you have rights through him to privacy, towing of vehicles properly parked and you always have a right to not be harassed.

The landlord must notify your boyfriend in writing, with proper notice before entering the unit. In this written statement, he must say why he is entering the unit. Normal reasons are maintenance and a once a year inspection of the property. He does not have a right to just walk in unless there is an actual emergency such as a water leak.

If you did not sign the lease and you are not named as a resident, you and your boyfriend have the right to be evicted for a lease violation.

If your vehicle is parked properly and has proper identification / registration, it should no be towed. You do not explain how you are being harassed, so we at Yahoo Answers cannot address that.

Funny that you are worried about illegal activity when you are the one living on someone else's property illegally.

If you are not on the lease, you have no right to be there, and need to move before you and your boyfriend are evicted. Whatever your boyfriend's property manager, owner, etc. is doing is none of your concern.
