How do you use the trunk in L.A Noire?

Question

I know to open the car's trunk in L.A Noire you press A.... but the only weapon I can select is the shotgun, and when i move left and right on the stick no new weapon appears. Also, was I supposed to get some code for the Piano Gun, or is it automatically in there? Because I got it in April, but my receipt didn't have a code on it....

If there was a code, it would be in the case as an insert with the manual.  My thought is the piano gun may be part of the Naked City case, which is what your pre-order bonus is.

And I think there are only other guns in the trunk if they're pertinent to the case.  I don't think they keep a stash in the trunk.
