Girlfriend took ATM card without permission?

My now ex girlfriend knows my ATM pin number and i let her use it all the time to get stuff for herself and us...today i noticed a 20 dollar withdrawal at two in the morning....when i confronted her she said she just needed to borrow it and gave it back....i went back on my records a little more and saw that at last wedsday at the same time she had done it again...i confronted her and she said she didnt remember and she had probably gone to get it for me (which she has done before)...i know that didnt happen and was wondering if i could get her in legal trouble


She took the card out of my wallet at night to go take the money....does that matter at all?

If she took the card out of your wallet without your permission, you can report her and get her into trouble. You can call the bank and have a new card issued to you and change the pin number. Also, when you last spoke to her, you should have confiscated the card, if you spoke to her in person. Other than that, cancel that card immediately!

In the eyes of the law you gave her permission by sharing your pin number, a bit like giving me a set of keys for your car and then crying hard done by when I drive it.

In the eyes of the bank you have broken a condition of use of your card by sharing your pin number with her.

Any money she has already taken is history. Forget it.

Do we honestly have to say change your pin number and never share it with anyone again??????
No we don't, anyone with half a brain would have figured that out for him self.

Don't forget,, change your pin number.

As long as you had the pin number, there's nothing the bank can do to you. In the future, you should have your own debit card. It's safer that way

credit card theft is a crime but since her theft was petty it's not worth the aggravation to bring charges against her, dump her ASAP
