Has anyone had to deal with the Equine Herpe virus?

Everyone has been spooked by this virus it seems. Have you heard of it in your area? Has your horse been exposed? Would you discontinue travel with your horse?

yes its was in my area. everything in Colorado was shut down.but now shows are back on and stuff. considering how there are no more cases since May 20th Im glad things have started back I have 2 HUGE shows this weekend and a even bigger show NEXT weekend

as far as my horse being exposed as far as I know my horse wasn't. she/no one else at my barn didn't end up with it so.

a few weeks ago i was in Houston, and I was going to do a show. An they canceled it due to the chance of it being the in the area . From my understanding there was a break out in Utah at a cutting show and a few of those horses are running the circuit around the country . The virus is airborne with no way to cure it once it starts. I believe my horse to be OK and have been traveling to my local barns with no issues. all seems well

Yes- three cases in my area (Central Cali) It's been about a month and all the stables have lifted their quarantine. I personally am not too worried for my horses' safety though I do take it serious. I however cannot discontinue travel as me and the ponies are going to college next Friday :)
