Canon XTi Flash Problem?

The built in flash on my Canon XTi won't pop up. It has been working fine with no issues then suddenly for no apparent reason the flash won't raise either automatically as it should in the auto modes or manually (using the flash button) in P, TV, AV or M settings. I've erased all of the camera settings including Cn custom settings to get it back to factory default levels, but the flash still won't pop up.

Any thoughts would be helpful, Thanks, Mike.

Hmmm. Sounds like a firm ware problem to me but then of course could be mechanical as well.
You know what, get in touch with Canon and tell them the story, see if they have a solution. We here at YA can't solve this only Canon can. Good Luck.

The canon efs 18-fifty 5 kit lense is crap. Get a canon EF 50mm f/a million.8 $seventy 9, it kicks the kit lense butt. this may be a large lense, and it will enable you to be taught each and all of the digital camera's purposes on the M placing.I additionally offered a sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 $380 that's my 2d fave. in basic terms a notice, the liquid crystal exhibit displays on the xti are prevalent to be plenty brighter than the actually captured image you could might desire to alter it.
