do you think the US should pull out of the UN?

The CITIZENS of this country need to hold a referendum to decide if we should continue to support the U.N. I truly believe that we have the votes to remove ourselves from this anti U.S. organisation and to defund it. Face it, without our money, the United Nations would fold up like a cheap suit...

The UN is a joke letting countries in that have virtually zero resources other than to get a piece of the pie which is mostly American. Yes we should leave it in the dust.

If the U.S were to pull out,it would decrease American influence throughout the world. Other powers
would step in to fill the vacuum, and not necessarily friendly powers.

The Soviet Union found this out the hard way back in 1950. They didn't like the U.N. either so they boycotted it. This enabled the U.S. and its allies to authorize an international "police action"
to protect South Korea when North Korea invaded. If the Russians hadn't boycotted they could have vetoed it,being on the Security Council, and maybe the Communists would have taken over the whole country. They learned a lesson from that and never boycotted again. They've been active in the U.N. ever since.

Get my point?

Actually John, the UN currently survives in spite of US money. The fact is the US is $1.3 billion behind in their dues as established under the UN Charter, which the US voluntarily signed on to and supported.

So, pay up and THEN you can complain.

We shouldn't pull out, just reduce the amount of money we pay them (Europe and South American countries should pay more) We don't want China influencing it too much though.
