Is there any other country that had a 2 1/2 cent coin in 1877 besides the Netherlands?
I have a very small coin that I don't know what country it comes from. On the obverse, there is a tree/wreath-like shape, and below that, it says 1877. There are faint remains of some sort of scalloped border. On the reverse, "2 1/2 CENT." is centered on the coin, with the "2 1/2" being about the "CENT." The fraction has the 1 over the 2, not with a slash. On the bottom of the reverse, there are what appears to be stars arcing concavely below the "CENT." The arc above the "2 1/2" on the top of the coin are letters, and even though they are very worn, there appears to be "BOG..." and after the "G", I can't read anymore.
Please help!! This is a very interesting coin. I've been trying to research it, but keep coming up with the 1877 2 1/2 cent from the Netherlands with the wreath surrounding the 2 1/2 mark on the reverse and the lion/shield on the obverse. This is definitely NOT that coin. This coin is very small - about a 3/8" diameter.
Please let me know if anyone has any answers. I can take a picture and send it along if you contact me!
