We have a miniature pinscher and she is a great small dog. She doesn't shed a ton, but there is some shedding. Regular bathing can help with that. They are a very short haired dog. She is very friendly with people and other dogs. She loves to ride in the car and be out of the house. Most dogs are what you make of them. If you socialize them from the moment you get them, they will be social. If you lock them in an apartment with no contact to anyone other than yourself, they are not going to like other people. We also trained our minpin to use a puppy pee pad. This could be very useful for apartment dwelling, if you don't have access to a grassy area. You can buy a spray that you spray on the pee pad and it lets the dog know that it's ok to pee there. You didn't say if you were buying the dog now or after you move, but you should check about quarentine before buying. If you buy in TX and then move out of the country your dog could have to spend up to 6 months in quarentine depending on the regulations of the country. Good luck!

Get a little dog from the shelter! The workers there can help you pick one that doesn't shed too much.
