Two of my friends told me different places like Amma and Devi, i really don't know anything. If you have your own personal references please contribute. Definitely take the trip down to Grimaldi's in Brooklyn. Near Grimaldi's you will also find "Junior's Cheesecake Factory" known to have the best cheesecake in New York, and Jacques Torres candy shop, all located within in walking distance. If you have to stay in the city, then I suggest "Two Boots" located at grand central as well as in Union Sqaure, both good shopping areas. If you want a place to dine and have some great sweets, then you should go to brooklyn.
