monitor says 'no signal detected' - help!?

Question

my son knocked over the of hardrive tower of our PC -- the monitor went out and now I can't get it to work again.  It keeps saying 'no signal detected' 
I replaced the monitor and cord (we had anoher one on a different computer) and that one says the same thing.
Anything I can do to fix it ???

There are a couple answers:

1.  Make sure it is plugged into the right spot
2.  Try another monitor
3. Open the PC case and see if everything is still connected properly.
