Why is refusing to renew a lease not a form of discrimination in housing.?

Been here 5yrs in glendale, AZ and now landlord refuses to renew lease, simply because I stand up for myself. How is this not a form of discrimination in housing?

Being a jerk does not make you special. This is a perfectly legal reason to not renew a lease.

Bye bye. Go victimize another poor landlord, this one has had enough.

As others said, discrimination is not illegal by itself. It has to be against a protected group such as race.

Look at it this way. The landlord is the property owner. He spent his money to purchase a house and decided to rent it to you. He no longer wants to do that, and since it's his property he has the right to do that. If you had the right to continue renewing the lease as long as you wanted, as the tenant, then he would no longer have control over his property. If you want to live somewhere forever, the only way you can do this is to purchase your own home. (and hope a redevelopment agency doesn't decide they want your land.)

What type of discrimination would you think this is ? Your landlord apparently does NOT like you, and has decided to not renew your lease contract. This is ENTIRELY his decision, as long as he does not refuse to renew based upon discrimination against a 'protected class'.

No landlord in any state I am aware of is ever legally required to renew any tenants lease. No tenant is EVER guaranteed to stay in any rental past the date on their current lease. I know it may not seem fair but living there for 5 yrs does not get you anything. You did not do yourself any favors by being a pain in the tuckas!

Lol I find this hilarious, and extremely hypocritical.

You are renting. You are essentially borrowing someone else's property for a monthly fee. I have no idea where you come off thinking you are somehow entitled to property that isn't yours.

You obviously have severe entitlement issues. You may want to seek professional help, since it is clear you have no idea how a functioning society works.

Better yet, buy your own damn house and stop pestering landlords trying to find decent tenants!
