Spiritually (or not) speaking, what is your opinion on marriage?

Sex before/after (or both,) should there be a ceremony/just paperwork, same-sex/opposite genders, etc?

Apparently it's healthy for same-sex couples to be frustrated and distressed over the fact that people don't want them to get married. Durr hurr.

After. Paperwork with the option of a ceremony and no same-sex marriages or group marriages.

I think it's excellent when done in this order and in my opinion, this is the definition and basis of any healthy society; this ability to choose made the west a cultural exception for over a millennium at one point.
