Someone needs to explain Dev to me.?

Question

I watched several of her music videos and I have no idea why she's famous and makes money.

The beats in her songs were not made by her.  She has been sampled in other peoples' songs too but as far as I can tell she didn't write anything except maybe her own lyrics, which any 12 year-old could have written.

She isn't extraordinarily attractive.  Yeah she's pretty but not to the point of being able to get famous just because of her looks.

Most of the time she just talks, and sometimes she sorta sings but it's so autotuned that she could be completely tonedeaf for all we know.

I've never seen her actually dance in any of her videos.  I've seen her stand there and flash a lot of different outfits, I've seen her stand against a wall and thrust her boobs out, but I haven't seen her do much else.

So... what can she do that any random 20something fairly pretty girl can't do?  I just want to know.

Dev has talent. It just shows in her own way. Everybody doesn't have to have a powerful to be an artist. And autotune isn't some miracle cure for bad singing. Honestly, it isn't that heavily autotune. She just sings in a similar key all the time. Her, and the Catarac (her main producers) work together (so yes, she IS involved in making her music) on making their own genre. They created a different sound and that's why a lot of people like it. And I know what you're thinking.. "but she sounds like Ke$ha, or any other mainstream artist." Sort of, but she has a uniqueness to her that makes her stand out. Plus, she is really not that popular. She has about to song out there and if you asked around "do you know who DEV is?" They'd probably say "who?"

He's a DJ on BBC Radio 1.
His show airs from Monday to Friday from 4am to 6:30am. He is followed by Chris Moyles. His full name is Devin Joseph Jordan Griffin.
He presented the CBBC show 'Smile' in about 2003/2004.
