Hey, so Im getting a Severe Macaw.
Im just not sure if I should go and find a breeder and get my own new baby or adopt an older one.
I met a 4yr old boy yesterday and he was a doll! So funny, but then again he is the first Macaw Ive been around.
So should I wait and get a new one or adopt the Macaw Ive already met?

You should get a baby , because it will get used to you as its growing, but its totally up to you :)

To be honest its up to you.
Macaws are loving birds. I think if you adopt the Macaw it would be really nice but if you get a baby macaw you will be able to tame it from a young age etc etc. Its really up to you, but think about it why not give a macaw a better life. ADOPT ! :D
How bout adopting a baby macaw 2 in 1 :D

I suggest you visit a few other macaws first, and go with your gut feeling after that. The bird will choose you! Good luck!
p.s. it's tipically more rewarding to raise it the way you want from a younger age, but it's a lot more work when you think about basic training.
