How can I decorate plain tab dividers?

I want them to look more visually interesting however every idea I find on google it involves magazines or stickers or even drawing (I am not a very good artist). Anyone got any interesting ideas?

If this helps any, my classes are:
Introduction to Law
Career Exploration and Development
History
Adolescent Psychology

Though the ideas do not have to relate to the classes

You could look for a punch you like (such as a tab punch) that allows you to cut shapes from different coloured cardstock, then fold in half and staple to your notebook where you want the divider to be.

If you like rubber stamps, you could stamp images on the tabs.

Use kindy glitz to add sparkle to tabs.

Try using something unusual such as a flattish button sewn half on the page.

Add texture to the tabs with dry embossing:

Try folding a long piece of decorative paper (such as designer paper from a scrapbook shop) and staple it all the way down the outside of a page to act as a tab.

Use ribbons like bookmarks - glue them across the page to hang outside the section you want to mark, or anchor the ribbon at the top of the page and allow it to hang below the page to mark your sections. Use a variety of widths and colours/patterns for your ribbons, or branch into textiles. Add beads or charms to the ends of the ribbons.
