help need advice we have a draft mare who no matter what fence you have she will smash through it we have a double electric fence with a cattle energizer on it then we have a no mans land then the same fencing again with a horse energizer also have pitch and post rail and large wire fencing im at the end of my tether as she cant go out in the field at all as as soon as you leave her she is through the fence any ideas plz as what to do

80% of electric fences don't work because the grounding is bad.
Check you have sufficient grounding
If soil is normal/moist you need to buld a ground field with minimum three 6ft long rods spaced about 1ft apart. You can use 1/2 galvanized water pipe they don't need to be expensive.
If soil is dry you need to add an extra ground wire to whole the fence perimeter and connect this wire to the energizer ground and then install additional grounding rods about every 200m connected to this wire..
Ok for the technical bit.
As has been said why is she breaking out?
Then your horse needs to be trained. Put the horse in a small enclosure with an electric fence she should be encouraged to touch it to feel the result. Then when out in the paddock she will associate the fence with the shock.
If she is very tame you can skip the small enclosure bit and have her on a bridle and introduce her slowly to the fence and let her brush against it. Same result.

you could try and find out why she is so intent on going through the fence. if you have an electric fence make sure the shock is good enough so she'll pay attention to it. or you could try putting more support on the fence, or maybe build another fence around the first one?
