I am looking for a free program that I can either download for free (not limited trial) or use on a website for free to convert rather large DIVX movies to either AVI or WMV videos so I can edit them with Windows Movie Maker. Please help.

Hi, convert DIVX movies to AVI movies or WMV movies to edit them with Windows Movie Maker, that' easy, but I don't think there is a free program or website can do that well, because I tried many free programs before, none of them work well, some poor quality, some have many limit, some even virus, so at last I used a cheap program RZ Video Converter to do that, it can convert any video files and audio files between different formats/codecs, such as convert DIVX movies to AVI or WMV videos for Windows Movie Maker, yahoo or google search and download RZ Video Converter, hope it can help you.

I'm using the first two on this list. (Why 2? I downloaded AVC first and used it for a few years then heard good things about the other one. I can't name it because when I do my answer is reported.)

(A note about large videos: Windows Movie Maker is designed for the beginning movie maker. It sometimes has problems (due to the computer resources it's set up to use) with really large video files. I've had no trouble with 40 minute videos that had a couple of titles but didn't have a lot of effects and transitions.)
