of course they have feelings. animals can get upset if they lose a companion. animals like rats can become depressed if they lose a sibling, they may stop eating and can even die a few days later (some people say from a broken heart). animals like whales will send out a stress call if one of their own has died.

Who told you that? Some animal have more feeling than people. They love unconditionally. Have you ever seeing an animal when they give birth with no help and they protect their puppies babies? They don't care about color, ethnicity or gender. Then love them until they are ready to take care for themselves.

I used to have two guinea pigs Snowflake & Ginger - they were mother and daughter and had never been seperated.

Ginger was ill for a time, but then in a cruel twist of fate Snowflake suddenly died. I remeber Ginger wouldnt eat, wouldnt make any noise (they squek when they are happy) and she litterly had liquid coming from her eyes - TEARS! I had never seen her so timid and reserved before.

A couple of days later Ginger also died, and to this day i belive she died of a broken heart.

They do. Who told you they didn't?

Feelings actually come before intellect. Animals can feel the entire range of emotions human do, just not for complex reasons that a human might.
