I have a debate in class tmrw. I need 3 really good reasons why India should not follow China's One Child Policy.
The only reason I have right now is that it's against the Hindu Religion.

1. India is a democracy. Such a hard line one child policy cannot be passed. human rights org. will definitely file a case against such a policy.
2. Female infanticide. India is still socially not developed and such a policy will lead to higher female infanticide.
3. India has a large pop. of Muslim and Christians (15%) which are against abortion and family planning due to their religious beliefs.
In my state of Kerala, India a proposed 2 child bill is been protested against by Muslim and Christian organisations. See source.

This ideal will kill more female childs. This will mean the
indian population will have more male than female. So this
will create a problem about 20 years later when the children are at marrying age.
China has this problem.
When the two parents become old and dependend, one child will be supporting two aged parents, this will create social problem. Already hapening in India in some parts where the children dump the parents.
Sex and makin babies is Indias favoutate pass time, the indians are the only once who have the Kama sutra.no other country has this sutras.
Education ho birth control is the key.

Yes. Simply said, our world population is growing way too big for the big global powers to handle. Just look at China. Even though they are booming economically, they're still struggling with their mass population they have to feed and supply energy to, thus resulting in their immigration to the US.
Look at the US's problem. We have an insane rate of unemployment due to the high number of our population and competition.
For the sake of India's future, they should not as a whole use religion to to combat their subjective action, which may lead to further dispute.
PS China's one child policy is a joke. The middle class/rich simply pay "extra" to give birth to a 2nd child. There are more women than men now in China!
