48mm to 32.5mm photography stepping rings?

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone knows of a solution that would let me use a 32.5mm (1.25") filter on a lens that takes 48mm filters. For example, I have seen 48mm to 46mm or 43mm step down rings, but I haven't been able to find a ring that would then let me step down from either of those sizes to 32.5mm. And for the record, I know these filters would severely vignette a picture, but I am looking to do it anyway.

I am open to any kind of step ring combo (or single step ring), but it would have to ultimately have a 32.5mm female thread on one end, and a 48mm male thread on the other. I would appreciate any advice you can provide.

And of course, cheaper is better. Cheers.

I honestly think you are out of luck on that. I have looked at both BH and also in an old Porters catalog which has an extensive listing of step up and step down rings, and there is nothing even close that would work, not even trying to use multi rings is possible in those sizes.

If this is something you just HAVE to do, I would suggest getting a cheap 48mm UV filter and using tape or a light glue to attach the 32.5 filter to the UV filter. You would have to black out the outside edges of the 48mm filter.

Sounds like way too much trouble to me. Plus, with that drastic a size difference, to say it would "severely vignette" is an understatement.

Just get some cheap 48mm filters if quality is not of that great a concern. You can find them dirt cheap on Ebay.

Fight - Doro She's Like Thunder - Doro Hey, if Doro's stuff used to be well adequate for Regina Halmich (an precise boxer) within the ring, it is well adequate for me. Other well ones, I might use: Fight for Rock - Warlock Burn It Up - Doro Battle Metal - Turisas You've Got Another Thing Coming - Judas Priest Seek and Destroy - Metallica

duck tape. you would have to find a series of step down rings to get to that point. There is probably not one out there with that drastic of a step down/up. Try contacting some of the photo stores in NY they usually have toll free numbers and ask....
Good luck
