The problem is some parts of scripture you can and cant take literally. People seek clergy that aligns with there interpretation of the words written in the bible. THAT'S were differing denominations of Christianity enter into the picture, differing interpretations of scripture. Some take speaking in tongues literally so they go to a church that dose so. Some hold snakes. Another will disagree ton he day the sabbath falls and go to a seventh day adventist church. This is the reason for many types of Christianities and NOT because one loves God and believes his or her bible less than another. We are all under the same God but interpret the word differently. We all believe in Christ, as long as we keep seeking and reading and understanding for ourselves and not being lazy we will be ok. If we just sit back and believe what we are told and close a deaf ear to the rest of the world we will not grow.

You check the claims of the bible to see if they are true. If they are, then you embrace that truth. If not, Reject it.
I see no problem with that. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Your problem is that you are attempting to figure God out (or negate Him) using your thoughts and reasoning. Can't be done. God's thoughts and ways are higher than ours and, yes, that's in scripture, too.
Right now, your mind and reasoning are limited to the physical, and there's so much more to life than that. Without a spiritual connection to God, it's makes sense that you can't go any further and do, as you have shown, go around in circles. One day, God will get your attention, and you will have your eyes opened spiritually, and you will see.

Jesus plainly stated at Matthew 7:13,14 "13Â “Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; 14Â whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it."
