My dirt bike got stolen. Now having legal problems.?

My dirt bike got stolen, when I reported it they said it was at tow yard because the guy who stole it was riding it on the streets and it wasn't street legal. So I was going to pick it up but the owner of the tow yard said I owe him $700 for holding on to it.(I only paid $500 for it). And he is going to sell it at an auction in 15 days if I don't pay him. It's like it got stolen twice, is there any thing I can do. I called a free legal number but they didn't answer. I don't understand how he can do this legally if its stolen property.

Contact your insurance company. If it was an off road vehicle, it should be covered by your home owners insurance.

Also contact the police and see if they will help you recover your bike. $700 is certainly and unreasonable fee for towing in a motorcycle.

contact insurance and go to court. $700 for towing a dirt bike is ridiculous and it was stolen so it's not your fault. if anything the person who stole it should have to pay for the fee not you.

you're plenty extra suitable off getting one that is already highway criminal. KTM twin game motorcycles are extraordinarily plenty the comparable as their corresponding off-highway fashions with some lighting and an ignition swap further on. The LC4 engine is very plenty bulletproof. Honda makes an XR650L, even though it is not somewhat as airborne dirt and dirt worth because of the fact the KTM's.
